Mother Duck said; "Quack quack quack quack!" but only 2 little ducks came back.
This original painting employs the pentimento technique to achieve a fun and unique fusion of two contrasting art techniques and styles. The background is an old watercolour painting of a pond, which I found in an op shop. The foreground features three rubber ducks, which I painted myself. The contrast between the two styles of art is striking, and the rubber ducks add a playful and whimsical touch to the otherwise serene scene.
The watercolor painting is by an artist named C. Brooks, but I was unable to find any information about them. While wanting to keep their painting’s age, style, and story in its original form I did enhance some of the original water colours that had faded.
I am very happy with the way this painting turned out.
